Facilities Management

Facilities Management (part of the Estates service) ensures the Council’s operational estate is safe, compliant and fit for purpose. The team are responsible for a wide range of issues, both within and beyond buildings. The service broadly splits into four sections:

  • Hard Facilities Management  – ensure buildings meet statutory regulations, undertake maintenance – revenue and capital; supporting Council in achieving carbon neutral ambition
  • Soft Facilities Management – providing support to the Council through building services – such as ensuring sites are open, reception, cleaning, post, print and scanning
  • Energy and Carbon Management – helping the Council achieve its ambition of becoming carbon neutral by 2027
  • Support – operating the external and internal property helpdesk (for users of our buildings and members of the public), managing the accounts for the operational estate and supporting all Facilities Management  teams in delivering change programmes
