Sick leave guide

4. Keeping in contact during sickness absence

Your manager will maintain reasonable contact with you during your sickness absence, whether short or long-term, to discuss your health and wellbeing, expected duration of absence from work, and any relevant work-related matters. This contact aims to provide support and may include a referral to occupational health if not already arranged.

If a referral to occupational health is needed, this will be discussed and agreed between you and your manager. Any reports from occupational health may be shared with the appropriate parties involved in managing your absence.

During longer-term absences, your manager will agree with you on the method and frequency of contact. If you have any concerns, you should reach out to your manager at any point during your sickness absence.
