Dignity at work

Employees are entitled to be treated with dignity and respect at all times. This enables them to fulfil their maximum potential and protects their health, safety and welfare.

The Dignity at work policy and procedure (MS Word, 110KB) applies in all relationships involving councillors, managers, employees and others e.g. service users, consultants, contractors and volunteers. It explains:

  • what you can expect from the Council and what the Council expects of you
  • the behaviours you are expected to display at work
  • what bullying, harassment and victimisation means
  • what you need to do if you think you are being bullied, harassed or victimised
