The role of a mental health first aider (MHFA) is to be a point of contact for any employees who are experiencing mental health issues or emotional distress.
To become a mental health first aider, you must complete an intense and comprehensive training programme. The training covers helping a person who may be developing a mental health problem, experiencing the worsening of an existing mental health problem or who are in a mental health crisis. You will then be able to spot symptoms, offer initial help and guide a person towards getting further support if needed.
