Mental health first aiders

There are  over 40 mental health first aiders (MHFA) from across the Council. The role of the mental health first aider is to be a point of contact for anyone who needs someone to talk to, whether you’re feeling a little overwhelmed, are unsure who to turn to or if you’re struggling with your mental wellbeing. This could range from a quick conversation through to supporting colleagues to seek appropriate help.

Our mental health first aiders are not therapists but are there to listen in a non-judgemental way, reassure and signpost to support.

Contact a mental health first aider

If you or a colleague are in need of someone to talk to please contact one of the mental health first aiders below who will be able to help. Any conversation held with a  MHFA will be treated in the strictest confidence and no information will be given to either managers or any other member of staff without your prior permission.

You do not necessarily need to speak with a mental health first aider in your own team or service - any  MHFA will be able to assist you via either by Microsoft Teams, phone, email or in person.

If you are unsure who to contact please email Organisational Development, who will put you in touch with one of our mental health first aiders.
