Housing Standards and Adaptations Team

The Housing Standards and Adaptations team is responsible for improving the quality of existing housing, including:

• Licensing for Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs)
• Housing standards in the rented sector, through enforcement and landlord accreditation
• Tackling problems caused by empty homes
• Supporting older and disabled people to maintain independent living, through grants and loans for home adaptations (Care and Repair)
• Handyperson service for minor adaptations and small repairs
• Housing Wellbeing Service for support to reduce the level of hoarding in homes
• Affordable warmth and tackling fuel poverty
• Managing Astbury Marsh Caravan Site

Complete the below form for informal financial assessment (Disabled Facilities Grant). It will take 10 minutes to complete. This is for people wishing to apply for a Disabled Facilities Grant and that as well as a financial assessment an Occupational Therapy referral will be required. People can self-refer via the Adult Contact Team.
