Transfer a member of staff

To transfer staff to a new or changed post you need to make the changes in B4B/Unit 4.

How to record staff transfers in Unit 4/B4B

  1. You will need to have the position number of the new or changed post. You should find a list of positions you are responsible for in your establishment list.
    Log into Unit 4 > scroll down to reports > HR > Line Manager > Establishment > HR101 Establishment list

    If this is a new post you’ll need to create the position first using the position administration form. It will save you time if you know in advance: the Job reference number and job title, your budget code, the pay scheme, grade, hours, location, and DBS checks etc.
    Log into Unit 4 > Forms > Position administration
  2. Use the Internal transfer and additional position form in Unit 4.
    Log into Unit 4 > Forms > Internal transfer and additional position
  3. The current line manager fills in the first part of the form to say when the resource (employee) is leaving their current position (post). Include the ‘leaving date’.
  4. The line manager for the post the employee is moving to completes the second part of the form: the new employment tab.
