Request unpaid leave

You can take an extended period of unpaid leave for between 2 and 12 months and your job will be held open until the date agreed for you to return to work. 

Your line manager will only approve the leave where the duties/responsibilities of your post can be done in your absence by another member of staff on a delegate or acting up basis and where there are no detrimental affects on the service delivery.
