Neurodiversity in the workplace

Neurodiversity refers to the natural differences in how people think, learn and process information. It includes conditions such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia. Around one in five people may be neurodivergent, and many do not have a formal diagnosis.

Creating a neuro-inclusive workplace means recognising these differences and making adjustments so everyone can thrive.

How we support neurodiversity

We’re working to be a more inclusive place to work. Here’s how we support neurodivergent colleagues:

  • Recruitment: We offer flexible interviews, clear job descriptions and advance notice of questions.
  • Induction: We provide information packs, jargon-free guides and tailored support from day one.
  • Performance: Managers use clear communication, regular feedback and reasonable adjustments.
  • Work environment: We consider lighting, noise, flexible hours and quiet spaces.
  • Training and awareness: Staff can access e-learning, lunch and learn sessions, and unconscious bias training.
  • Culture: We promote open conversations, support networks and leadership that champions inclusion.
