Looking after our mental health
There are a number of simple actions that have been shown to make a big difference to your health and wellbeing.
Mindfulness
Everyone can be affected by stress and anxiety at some point in our lives. This can affect our mental wellbeing and how we can cope with the pressures of life both at work and at home.
Mindfulness is an approach to change the way we think and can reduce anxiety and stress. It means paying attention – to our thoughts, feelings, body sensations and the environment.
With mindfulness, we gently bring awareness to our experience in each moment.
By being present in this way – not forcing things or hiding from them, but actually being with them - we create space for new ways of responding.
We may not always have full control over our lives, but we can work with our minds and bodies, learning how to live with more appreciation and less anxiety.
